We address the challenges associated with using low-level open-source libraries, including key management, device or password loss, access rights management for encrypted data, group configurations, and multi-device support.

- In-transit encryption, or TLS, secures the data transmitted through a network, ensuring that all information within the communication channel is protected. However, data outside of this channel remains unprotected.

- Encryption-at-rest, or database encryption, safeguards data when it is not actively being used. If an unauthorized individual were to physically steal the database server, they would be unable to access the encrypted data. However, if someone were to gain access to your backend—potentially through an application vulnerability—they would be able to access the data.

- End-to-end encryption guarantees that no third party can access the data. This includes not only the data host and application developers but also any administrators, government entities, or potential malicious actors targeting these parties.

The complimentary offering is a sandbox environment distinct from the paid services and lacks data replication and high availability features. As a result, data within this environment may be inaccessible or lost, making it unsuitable for production use.
